Lost Love

I've known you for 23 years,

And in that time I've shed some tears,

Because in my mind I knew what was true,

That knowing I was still in love with you.

I looked and search, but could not find

But you were never far from my mind,

Then by chance on Friends Reunited,

I saw your name and was so excited.

You made contact again and my heart skipped a beat,

But it's my turn now to sweep you off your feet,

I promise to you with all my heart

That this time we will never part.

This is for good, and nearly complete

That piece of jigsaw that fits so neat,

So all I ask, and I never forgot,

Was to love you, not a little, but a hell of a lot,

I know thing have moved at an accelerated pace

But I must learn to walk; it's not a race

So I pledge to you with undying love

To make the rest of your life happy and good

My feelings for you are so very keen

I know what's to come and what has been

Whether for friendship, Husband and wife,

I will love you for the rest of my life.
